Eating Disorder Treatment

We offer compassionate care to help adults and adolescents recover from anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and other eating disorders.

Eating Disorder Treatment at Reasons Eating Disorder Center: Why Choose Us?

Recovering from an eating disorder is possible. We are here to help. At Reasons Eating Disorder Center at BHC Alhambra Hospital, we help you discover the reasons behind your eating disorder — and the reasons for your recovery. Our goal is to help you heal and create a life you love.

We offer several treatment options so you can find the level of care you need. These include inpatient and outpatient programs for teens 12 to 17 and adults 18 and up, as well as a residential program for adults 18 and up.

Whether you or your child is dealing with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating or another eating disorder, we provide compassionate support on your recovery journey.

At Reasons Eating Disorder Center, you’ll find:

  • Skilled care providers: Your providers include therapists, dietitians, psychiatrists, nurses, mental health workers, a case manager and an internist. They provide comprehensive care tailored to your physical, mental and emotional needs.
  • Evidence-based treatment: Our therapies are grounded in research and our clinical knowledge. They may include exposure and response prevention (ERP) to help with eating anxiety and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help with emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
  • Structured environment: Our programs provide a structured schedule to help you focus on healing. You attend individual and group therapy sessions, as well as meetings with a psychiatrist and nutritionist.
  • Dual-diagnosis treatment: Many people with eating disorders are also dealing with mental health issues and substance use disorders. We can treat these issues at the same time at our center.
  • Inclusive care: People of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, people in larger bodies and other groups are sometimes excluded from eating disorder care. We provide an inclusive environment and respectful space for people of all backgrounds to heal.
  • Military member support: We are TRICARE® in-network for active-duty service members and their families. We understand your unique needs and have experience working within the requirements of military fitness for duty standards.

  • Partial hospitalization program (PHP): A step down from inpatient treatment, this outpatient program allows your child to receive treatment while living at home. They get structured care five days a week for six hours a day. The program is only available virtually.
  • Intensive outpatient program (IOP): This program is similar to PHP but has a shorter day. It provides structured support five days a week for three to four hours a day. It is available virtually only.

Eating disorder treatment programs for adults

Our treatment options for adults 18 and up include:

You receive structured care five days a week for three to six hours a day from the comfort of your home. We offer flexible hours so you can fit treatment into your busy day. This program is only available virtually.
